Corporate Monitor was established to encourage better performance of companies, particularly companies listed on the SGX, and hold their management and boards to account, for the benefit of their shareholders and stakeholders.

Mak Yuen Teen

Mak Yuen Teen’s work in corporate governance spans nearly three decades as both academic and practitioner. He was founding director of the first corporate governance centre in Singapore called the Corporate Governance and Financial Reporting Centre (CGFRC) at the NUS Business School, where he is Professor (Practice) of Accounting. He is the director of the Centre for Investor Protection which he founded at the School in 2024.

Prof Mak has held positions of Asia-Pacific Research Director in a global consulting firm and Head of Research at a Big 4 accounting firm in Singapore, while on leave from the university. He holds First Class Honours, Masters and PhD degrees in accounting and finance.
Prof Mak was Chairman/board member and Deputy Chairman/board member of two large Singapore healthcare charities. He was a member of the audit advisory committee of two UN funds based in New York.
Prof Mak served on three of the four committees set up in Singapore to develop and revise Singapore’s Code of Corporate Governance and is currently serving a second three-year term as a member of the Corporate Governance Advisory Committee formed by MAS in February 2019.
Prof Mak is currently a member of the international advisory board of the Hawkamah Institute for Corporate Governance in Dubai and an advisory board member of the Vietnam Independent Directors Association.
He developed the Governance and Transparency Index (GTI) published by the Business Times (now called SGTI), was the Singapore representative on a project to develop an ASEAN corporate governance scorecard and ranking, and also led the development of GIFT, the only dedicated public ranking of REITs and business trusts in Singapore.
Prof Mak’s report on improving the implementation of corporate governance practices in Singapore, commissioned by MAS and SGX, was published in June 2007. In 2014, he was given the Corporate Governance Excellence Award by SIAS for his contributions to corporate governance in Singapore. In 2015, he received the Corporate Governance Excellence Award from the Minority Shareholders Watchdog Group of Malaysia for his contributions to raising corporate governance standards in the region and was also recognised by the Singapore Institute of Directors as a CG Pioneer.
He regularly conducts training and speaks in conferences in Singapore and overseas for directors, regulators and other professionals in the region.

Rohan Kamis

Rohan Kamis FCA FCPA FCCA, ASEAN CPA, formed Rohan · Mah & Partners LLP in October 1993 to service the niche between the Big Four international accounting firms and the smaller local firms. He serves as its Managing Partner.

He graduated in 1975 from the University of Singapore in Accountancy. He was the PAP Member of Parliament (MP) for Telok Blangah Constituency from February 1979 to December 1984. Whilst as an MP, he was a member of the Parliamentary Public Accounts Committee that was responsible for the statutory and value-for-money audits for all Government Ministries, Statutory Boards and Government Companies. He is also a member of several professional institutions including the British Computer Society.
Rohan held many important portfolios in several quasi-government, commercial and professional organizations. In 1987 he set up Rohan + Siew, an accounting practice with management consultancy services specializing in Executive Search & Selection before forming Rohan · Mah & Partners LLP. He is also the founding Chairman of ASNAF Public Accounting Corporation.

He sits on the boards of several private and public companies. In addition, he is on the Inquiry and Disciplinary panels of the Singapore Medical Council, the Law Society and the Accounting and Corporate Regulatory Authority. In July 2014, he co-edited and launched a book of autobiographical essays “We also SERVED: Reflections of Singapore former PAP MPs”. ​

Tan Yee Peng

Tan Yee Peng is a director and founding member of Corporate Monitor Limited. She holds an extensive career spanning over twenty years in the fields of accounting and audit. Her professional journey includes a significant tenure as a partner at KPMG in Singapore from 2003 to 2010 providing accounting and advisory services to diverse sectors. Additionally, she held responsibilities to uphold KPMG’s technical and professional standards, as well as overseeing the employees’ developmental needs of its 2,000 staff.

After her retirement as a practising accountant, Yee Peng remained actively engaged in both academia and the non-profit sector. She served as an adjunct associate professor at the Nanyang Technological University until 2018. In the non-profit domain, her roles included board roles at TTSH Community Fund, Ren Ci Hospital, Vanguard Health Fund and VIVA Foundation for Children with Cancer.
Presently, Ms Tan holds prominent positions on various boards, including charities, government-affiliated organisations, publicly listed and private companies such as TDCX Inc., First Sponsor Group Limited, Oiltek International Limited, Dutech Holdings Pte Ltd, and 1FSS.  
Ms Tan holds a Bachelor of Accountancy (First Class Honours) degree from the Nanyang Technological University and is a Fellow of the Institute of Singapore Chartered Accountants and a member of the Singapore Institute of Directors.

Senior Analyst

Irwin Luo

Irwin is a Chartered Accountant (CA Singapore, FCCA). He has a broad range of industry exposure – from a stint with Deloitte, to strategy at Keppel Corp and leadership roles within deep tech start-ups.  

He lectures for the Singapore Chartered Accountant Qualifications, specializing in Governance and Valuation. Irwin also gives back to the accountancy community by serving as an SCAQ Exam Marker and Academic Reviewer.
Irwin graduated with an MSc. in Applied Finance from Singapore Management University (SMU), with the honors of Top Student and Valedictorian.
